Articles

  • Shamieh Law reached out to me with this article that is posted on the website. I do not have a relationship with the firm. I took extra time to vet the research cite in the article for validity and reliability and found the information not only informational and of high-quality, but also important to share.

Websites & Communities

Podcasts

  • An interview with occupational therapist Robin Abbott.

  • Highly recommended for anyone with neurodivergence, anxiety, depression, ADHD, autism, and other mental health diagnosis that affect functioning of prefrontal cortex development.

  • CE credit available.

Books

From my favorite public communications psychiatrist Dr. Edward M. Hallowell:

From a Systems-based Neuroscience Perspective

(highly recommend for all mental health professionals)

  • The Neuroscience of Psychotherapy: Healing the Social Brain [the ADHD section & whole book]

 Sensory Processing

*Great for practical interventions, focused on younger kids, but a lot of the information can be applied through the lifespan (highly recommend)

Magazine

  • ADDitude (great free resources & community support)

Parenting Books*

-              Parenting with Love and Logic

*kids with neurodivergence can be very logical :)

*Keep in mind that these were written for neurotypical children. You will need to be more structured and direct with children with neurodivergency. But the basic principles will stay the same.
